For August 2024, we have three major changes to Georgetown’s outdoor event spaces.
- Front Lawns Utility Project – The Healy and Copley Lawn Utilities Project will take the Copley and Healy Lawns offline as event spaces. The current plan is for the work to be done in stages, with one of the two lawns available for events most of the year. For Convocation, the plan is to pause work and make both lawns available to celebrate our graduates. The purpose of this project is to shift multiple buildings to new more sustainable heating. - Harbin Patio Construction – This renovation to Harbin Patio will activate Harbin Patio as an alternative event space to the front lawns. The renovation will bring a new synthetic turf area, planter beds, painted pavers and new modular seating to Harbin Patio. The seating will remain flexible for a variety of furniture, tent, and event setups. The project also brings under-the-hood benefits with better drainage and access to power. We look forward to hosting events on the new patio starting August 2024. Learn more.
- St. Mary’s Garden (Coming Soon) – We are pleased to announce the opening of our new lawn space on campus. This green space is perfect for events, relaxation, recreation, and study. The St. Mary’s Garden offers multiple spaces lies between St. Mary’s and Darnell Halls on one side and the new Verstandig Pavilion at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. We look forward to hosting a variety of events and setups in this new flexible space. Learn more.
